December 8, 2021 — 鶹ý Board of Regents Chair Andrá R. Ward has been selected to serve on the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges’ (AGB) Council for Student Success.
“Being appointed to the AGB Council for Student Success is an honor that will allow me to bring ideas and perspectives to help NKU refine its continued transformational success as a student-ready, regionally-engaged university,” Ward said. “The work that we will do as a Council will better serve students at NKU and throughout the United States.”
AGB’s Council for Student Success is composed of an elite group of college and university board members, chief executives and select administrators and faculty from a diverse array of AGB member institutions, systems and foundations who have a commitment to advancing student success. The council helps shape the strategic thinking, priorities, and action of university and college boards and their members to elevate student success outcomes.
“Chair Andrá Ward’s appointment to the AGB Council for Student Success further validates NKU’s growing national reputation as a university that puts student success first,” President Ashish Vaidya said. “Through the thought leadership put forth by the Council, NKU will better serve its students as we carry out the three pillars of access, completion and career and community engagement laid out in the Success By Design strategic framework.”
Success By Design, adopted by 鶹ý in 2019, serves as a roadmap for NKU to increase access, achieve higher levels of completion, and advance opportunities for career and community engagement for all learners. The vision is for NKU to be nationally recognized as a student-ready and regionally engaged university that empowers diverse learners for economic and social mobility.
Ward has served on the NKU Board of Regents since his initial appointment by Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear in 2013 and reappointed in 2019 by Gov. Matt Bevin. Ward was elected as Chair of the Board of Regents in 2020. Andrá is the President, Chief Culture & Transformation Officer of The KhafreWard Corporation.
