"Classes should always be your priority but also look for extracurricular activities and clubs to join during your time in college. Extracurricular activities at NKU provide you with a safe environment to go out of your comfort zone and meet new people. You will learn invaluable communication and leadership skills that will help you in job interviews and life. Get involved."

Co-Curriculum Activities:  Student member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Vice-president and head peer mentor of the NKU’s Latino Mentorship Program (LAMP), Secretary of the NKU chapter of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), NKU Varsity eSports Captain.

Career Plan: After graduation, I would like to work in a multinational company in the automotive sector. In my first internship, I found a passion in this sector, and would like to pursue a career in this field.

  • Co-curricular Opportunities: We have many opportunities for our students to engage with faculty and fellow students. They will learn research skills by working collaboratively with our faculty and with each other in research teams. They can also join different engineering organizations such as Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Society for Manufacturing Engineers (SME), Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and Kentucky academy of science (KAS).
  • Co-op and Internships: There are numerous co-op and internship opportunities in the Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati area. Our Engineering Technology programs are supported by local industry such as Bosch, GE, Duke Energy, Siemens, Toyota, etc. who provide most of our students with co-op and internship opportunities. These typically lead to an offer of full-time employment.
  • Career Explorations: Our innovative, interdisciplinary courses provide students with knowledge and skills necessary to enter careers in design, application, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechatronics and robotics systems. Graduates gain skills to use a combination of mechanical, electrical, and computer skills to work with smart technologies such as robots, intelligent mechatronic systems, human-machine interfaces, automated systems, and computer-integrated manufacturing equipment.
