The May 2024 Commencement ceremony was noteworthy as the first celebration in memory disrupted by a fire alarm; however the true excitement came from celebrating the successes of the Biological Sciences Class of 2024.

Mickayla Kowalski
Mickayla Kowalski: All-University Award Winner

Ìý

NKU FOUNDATION LEADERSHIP AWARD: Biology major Mickayla Kowalski starred on the Norse Women's Soccer team, excelled in laboratory research with Dr. Chris Curran launching a new project on cardiotoxicity, winning a Collaborative Faculty-Student Project Award from the College of Arts & Sciences and presenting her peer-reviewed research at the 2024 Society of Toxicology meeting. Kowalski's leadership extended into community service, including a mission trip to the Dominican Republic with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Mickayla is continuing her education in optometry at Ohio State.

 

In addition to the All-University awards, the Department of Biological Sciences honored several other outstanding graduates at the annual Senior Celebration.
