NKU REFS has a variety of research programs and scholarly activities that take place at our facilities, in the St. Anne Woods and Wetlands Natural Areas and in local area streams. These activities are very diverse and range from finding photosynthetic rates in shrubs and monitoring natural controls of Amur honeysuckle, to evaluating invasive species impacts on amphibian populations, to getting base-line information on native long-horn beetles, to investigating the potential impact of climate change on stream fishes. The two biological themes that tie these programs together are invasion biology and climate change.
